As a well-respected teacher in my building, I have been asked on several occasions to create materials for a professional development environment for our staff. Below are a few examples of the types of materials that were created for these situations.
This was created based on research done in a graduate class on reading strategies and designed to have teachers who teach content areas (social studies, science, etc.) incorporate best practices reading strategies to aid in comprehension across the student body. An additional resource can be found in the Articulate Samples for an interactive lesson that accompanies this information.
One major initiative in our school building was the incorporating of problem-based learning into the curriculum. This was created as an example of how to incorporate within my department and shared with teachers as part of the training on PBL.
