Digital Artwork

I was honoured to design the logo for Gchi-twaa Dadaakokiiid: Sacred Steps, a community-based initiative focused on lower-limb preservation in Durham Region. As an Indigenous digital artist and designer, I wanted the identity to feel welcoming, culturally connected and human rather than clinical, while reflecting the heart of the program. I first developed the design in black and white, allowing the symbolism, composition and imagery to stand on their own before colour was introduced. Once the design was selected, I incorporated colour with careful consideration of the existing partner organizations, so the new identity could work cohesively alongside them while remaining distinct. This project represents the intersection of my Indigenous art practice and digital design work, and the meaningful role visual storytelling can play in supporting and communicating important community services.
