Welcome to the Vail High School Community Schools Site!
Hi, I am so happy you’re here! My name is Ryan, and I’m your Community Schools Coordinator at Vail High School.
My goal is to make sure every student, parent, and guardian feels supported, connected, and informed. This website was created to be your one-stop place for important school information, upcoming events, family resources, and ways to connect with our school and the community.
🤝 Join Our Community Effort!
We recognize that true student success relies on a strong network of support. Whether you are a parent, a family member, a city official, or a local neighbor, your involvement matters, and you are a vital part of our school community. If you need resource assistance, have questions, or want to share a community idea, please reach out to us. We are here to listen, support, and collaborate!
🏁 Supporting Vail High School: A Call to Our Community
Vail High School is proud to serve as our district’s alternative continuation high school, dedicated to helping students in grades 10–12 find an alternative path to earn their high school diploma through credit recovery. Because we operate within an intentionally smaller campus footprint, we do not have the traditional avenues of funding or the extra hands on deck that larger, traditional high schools enjoy. Because of this, outside community support and neighborhood partnerships are absolutely vital to our mission.
We are incredibly grateful to our growing network of local business partners who recently stepped up to sponsor our Career & College Day! A special thank you to Trubowl Montebello (for donating four $25 gift cards), Shakey’s Pizza Pico Rivera (for donating a medium pizza and Mojos voucher), and Cinépolis Pico Rivera (for donating two free movie tickets) for investing directly in our students.
Since over 90% of our student body are Seniors working hard to get back on track and successfully graduate, we are actively looking for more local food trucks, taco stands, coffee shops, snack vendors, and ice cream shops from Montebello and surrounding cities to join our network. There are many ways to champion our students, including:
Donations: Providing raffle prizes, school supplies, non-perishable pantry goods, professional clothing, or student incentive rewards.
Event Sponsorships: Partnering with us to cater or sponsor a memorable Senior Day, graduation celebration, or student-of-the-month reward lunch.
Participation: Volunteering your time at school resource events or sharing your professional journey as a guest speaker.
If you or your business would like to invest in the potential of Vail High School students, please contact me directly. Together, we can fuel student success and ensure our students have every opportunity they need to thrive.

🏫 What Are Community Schools?
Community Schools are built around the idea that schools are stronger when families, educators, students, and community partners work together.
Our goal is to support the whole child and the whole family, not just inside the classroom, but also by connecting families with resources, services, and opportunities that can support their well-being and success.
As a Community School, we work to:
Build strong partnerships between our school, families, and the community.
Connect students and families with helpful resources and vital support services.
Support student learning and long-term academic success.
Create opportunities for families to share their voice and be involved.
Promote the social, emotional, and overall well-being of our students and families.
Grow together to build a strong, welcoming environment for every student.
