VH Dissector: Head & Neck: Skull & Dura

Using the Rotate and Highlight tools, locate each of the major bones of the skull listed below

1. Frontal bone

2. Nasal bone

3. Lacrimal bone

4. Ethmoid bone

5. Vomer

6. Maxilla

7. Sphenoid bone

8. Zygomatic bone

9. Mandible

10. Parietal bone

11. Temporal bone

12. Occipital bone

Using the Highlight tool, find each suture from the list:

1. Coronal suture

2. Sagittal suture

3. Lamboid suture

4. Squamous suture

5. Sphenoparietal suture

6. Sphenosquamous suture

7. Parietomastoid suture

8. Occipitomastoid suture

Using the Dissect tool, remove the frontal and nasal bones to get a better view of the ethmoid and sphenoid bones. (Hint: Use the Anatomy icon to search for both bones and highlight those bones.)

Review the venous drainage of the brain. Identify the following components:

1. Superior Sagittal Sinus

2. Straight Sinus

3. Occipital Sinus

4. Transverse Sinus

5. Sigmoid Sinus

6. Superior Petrosal Sinus

7. Inferior Petrosal Sinus

8. Cavernous Sinus
