Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using the VetReady mobile application ("VetReady" or the "App") operated by [REQUIRES MANUAL INPUT: company legal name] ("we," "us," or "our").

By downloading, installing, or using VetReady, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

1. Description of Service

VetReady is a pet health journaling application that allows you to:

Create and manage profiles for your pets (dogs, cats, fish, birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, turtles, horses, ferrets, reptiles, and other species).
Log symptoms, medications, weight measurements, vet visits, and daily routine observations.
Track medication supply and receive local refill alerts.
Generate PDF health reports that you can share with your veterinarian.
Optionally back up your data to your personal iCloud account via Apple CloudKit.

VetReady is a personal record-keeping tool. The App stores all data locally on your device and does not require an account, login, or internet connection for core functionality.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using VetReady, you represent and warrant that:

You are at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction).
If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you have obtained the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the App.
You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
Your use of the App will comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

3. Not Medical Advice

VetReady is not a medical device and does not provide veterinary, medical, or diagnostic advice. The App is intended solely as a personal record-keeping and organizational tool for pet owners.

The information you enter and view within VetReady is user-generated and is not reviewed, verified, or endorsed by any veterinary professional.
VetReady does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition.
Always consult a licensed veterinarian for your pet's health concerns. Never delay seeking professional veterinary advice because of information logged in VetReady.
We are not responsible for any decisions you make based on data entered into or generated by the App, including PDF health reports.

4. In-App Purchases and VetReady Pro

4.1 VetReady Pro

VetReady offers a premium upgrade called "VetReady Pro," available as a one-time, lifetime in-app purchase. VetReady Pro unlocks the following features:

Unlimited pet profiles (free tier is limited to one pet).
Appearance themes (light, dark, and system).
Medication refill alerts.
Editable and deletable medication entries.
PDF vet report generation and sharing.
iCloud Backup and restore.

4.2 Payment and Processing

All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple's terms and conditions. We do not process payments directly. The purchase price is displayed in your local currency on the App Store and on the paywall screen within VetReady.

4.3 Restore Purchases

If you have previously purchased VetReady Pro, you can restore your purchase on any device signed in with the same Apple ID by using the "Restore Purchase" button on the paywall screen.

4.4 Refund Policy

Refunds for in-app purchases are handled exclusively by Apple in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not have the ability to issue refunds directly.

4.5 Price Changes

We reserve the right to modify the pricing of VetReady Pro at any time. Any price change will not affect users who have already completed their purchase.

5. User Content and Data

5.1 Your Data

You retain full ownership of all data you enter into VetReady, including pet profiles, health logs, medications, photos, and notes. We do not claim any ownership or license over your content.

5.2 Local Storage

All data is stored locally on your device in an embedded SQLite database. We do not have access to, and cannot retrieve, your data from your device.

5.3 iCloud Backup

If you enable iCloud Backup (a VetReady Pro feature), your data is synced to your personal, private iCloud account using Apple CloudKit. This data is stored in your personal iCloud storage allocation and is governed by your agreement with Apple. We do not have access to your CloudKit data.

5.4 Data Deletion

You can permanently delete all data from VetReady by using the "Delete All Data" option in the App's Settings screen. This erases all locally stored data and, if iCloud Backup is enabled, all data in your iCloud CloudKit container. This action is irreversible.

5.5 Data Accuracy

You are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the data you enter into VetReady. We do not verify, validate, or guarantee the accuracy of any user-entered information.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use VetReady for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these Terms.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise derive the source code of the App, except to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on the App.
Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices, labels, or marks on the App.
Use the App to transmit any malicious software or code.
Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any access controls, licensing mechanisms, or usage limitations built into the App.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Intellectual Property

VetReady, including its design, code, user interface, graphics, icons, logos, and documentation, is the intellectual property of [REQUIRES MANUAL INPUT: company legal name] and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use VetReady on devices that you own or control, in accordance with the Apple App Store Terms of Service and these Terms.

7.3 Open-Source Components

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, VETREADY IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WARRANTIES THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
WARRANTIES REGARDING THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR COMPLETENESS OF ANY INFORMATION PROVIDED THROUGH THE APP.
WARRANTIES THAT THE APP WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS OR EXPECTATIONS.

YOU USE VETREADY AT YOUR OWN RISK. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT YOUR DATA WILL BE PRESERVED IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES, INCLUDING DEVICE FAILURE, SOFTWARE UPDATES, OR UNINSTALLATION. WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND ENABLING ICLOUD BACKUP TO PROTECT YOUR DATA.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL [REQUIRES MANUAL INPUT: company legal name], ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY:

LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.
DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.
DAMAGES ARISING FROM ANY DECISIONS MADE BASED ON INFORMATION LOGGED IN OR GENERATED BY THE APP.
DAMAGES RESULTING FROM UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR ALTERATION OF YOUR DATA.
DAMAGES ARISING FROM THE CONDUCT OF ANY THIRD PARTY IN CONNECTION WITH THE APP.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR VETREADY PRO (IF ANY), OR TEN UNITED STATES DOLLARS (USD $10.00), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. IN SUCH CASES, OUR LIABILITY WILL BE LIMITED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless [REQUIRES MANUAL INPUT: company legal name] and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:

Your use of VetReady.

11. Third-Party Services

VetReady integrates with the following third-party services:

Apple App Store: For app distribution and payment processing. Subject to Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
RevenueCat: For in-app purchase verification and entitlement management. Subject to RevenueCat Terms of Service.
Apple CloudKit (iCloud): For optional data backup. Subject to Apple's iCloud Terms.

We are not responsible for the practices, policies, or content of any third-party service. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to the applicable third party's terms.

12. App Store Terms

Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services for VetReady.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no warranty obligation with respect to VetReady.

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to VetReady at any time, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including Sections 3 (Not Medical Advice), 5 (User Content and Data), 7 (Intellectual Property), 8 (Disclaimer of Warranties), 9 (Limitation of Liability), 10 (Indemnification), and 14 (Governing Law).

Because all data is stored locally on your device, termination of access does not automatically delete your data. You retain the ability to delete data via the App's Settings screen or by uninstalling the App.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [REQUIRES MANUAL INPUT: jurisdiction/state/country], without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Your continued use of VetReady after the posting of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the App.

16. Electronic Communications

By using VetReady, you consent to receiving communications from us electronically (to the extent we need to communicate with you). Any notices, agreements, disclosures, or other communications that we send to you electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communication be in writing.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and [REQUIRES MANUAL INPUT: company legal name] regarding VetReady and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications, whether written or oral.
