Welcome to the Veterans' Mural Project Audio Presentation
Original Concept Sketch
Priorities for this mural were to include all 5 branches of service, show different eras and have the flag be the anchor.
At the beginning were just me and my friend Terry Clanton, a veteran of the Vietnam War. Terry had experience on the P.P.B. patrol boat, so his first job was to tackle this scene.
On occasion Rebekah would bring a couple of Veterans from the C.L.C. to work for a few hours.
As word of the project got around Veterans from the P.R.R.C., Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Center joined our team of volunteer artists.
Top Left-The B-25 scene is personal to me as it depicts my father, Tom and the 336th Service Squadron, Army Airforce, WWII in the pacific theatre.

As we approached completion of our mural, Rod Doty whose office was down the hall, frequently would come by to check our progress. One day he said why don’t you keep going, there is plenty of blank walls left. Soon others made the same comments. Ok, back upstairs for more approvals.
