Freshman English is behind you. It is your foundation. This year you will become a hunter of words, a gatherer of language, and a pursuer of reading. With my help and your parents and your peers, I hope that you will embrace the hunt of reading and writing- arguably two of the most important skills you need in life. Oh, and you'll be thinking too. This year get ready to learn how to cread, or crticically think about reading. In this day and age, it is important to question and to hunt for evidence.
This year, you'll build onto your analysis skills for writing. You'll be asked to read more books than you have before. You'll get the opportunity to read a dramatic play and you'll embark on a shared class novel.
Each quarter has a close focus as follows: first quarter focuses on rhetorical analysis, second quarter focuses on argument, third quarter focuses on narrative and fourth quarter focuses on synthesis skills.
For the first semester, we follow a rigorous and structured schedule:
Mondays: Read 10, Write 10, Daily Lesson 20, Share 5
