Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 31, 2026
Verune is developed and operated by Asgedom Yohannes.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled by the Verune application, its widget, the Check in Verune Share Extension, and this support website.
Verune does not require an account, email address, username, password, or social-media login.
The app does not request your contacts, location, microphone, camera, advertising identifier, or browsing history.
Verune may store the following information locally:
favorites and bookmarks
lesson and practice progress
personal sentences and notes
captured words
collections and collection names
reminder preferences
reading and voice preferences
Word Check context selections
app appearance and accessibility preferences
purchase-entitlement status supplied by Apple
This information is used only to provide Verune’s features.
iCloud synchronization is optional.
When you enable it, Verune stores a copy of your journal, learning progress, collections, personal sentences, and related preferences in the app’s private iCloud container so that this information can follow you across Apple devices signed into the same Apple Account.
Apple operates the iCloud infrastructure. Verune does not receive your Apple Account password or full Apple Account details.
You may turn synchronization off at any time. To remove Verune’s current local and cloud learning data, open:
Verune → Settings → Erase journal and progress
Word Check analyzes sentences against Verune’s bundled vocabulary library.
The analysis occurs on the device. Verune does not send Word Check text to an artificial-intelligence service, analytics provider, advertising network, or external language-processing server.
When you share text with Check in Verune, the extension reads only the text or link that you deliberately share.
The extension analyzes that material locally.
When you select Continue in Verune, the sentence and selected writing context are temporarily placed in Verune’s shared application container so the main app can open the same check. That temporary handoff information is removed after Verune imports it.
Verune Pro purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store.
Verune receives verified entitlement information needed to determine whether Pro features should be unlocked. Verune does not receive or store your complete payment-card number, banking information, or Apple Account password.
Purchase management, billing, refunds, and subscription cancellation are handled by Apple.
Verune requests notification permission only when you choose to enable a reminder.
Reminder scheduling is used only to deliver the reminders you configure.
Verune requests permission to add an image to your photo library only when you choose to save a generated word card.
When you export or share a card, PDF, backup, or sentence, you choose the destination through Apple’s system interface. Copies saved to another app, cloud drive, email service, or device are governed by the privacy practices of that destination.
Verune uses Apple’s system speech voices to pronounce words and preview available reading voices.
Verune does not record your voice and does not request microphone access.
The current version of Verune contains:
no advertising SDK
no third-party analytics SDK
no cross-app tracking
no sale of personal information
no behavioral advertising
no third-party AI processing of your sentences
System-managed diagnostic information may be produced by iOS. Verune’s copyable diagnostic summary does not include personal sentences, notes, or journal contents.
When you contact support, you voluntarily provide your email address, message, and any information you choose to include.
That information is used only to investigate your request, respond to you, and maintain necessary support records. Do not include private journal text unless it is necessary to explain the issue.
Local information remains on your device until you erase it, uninstall the app, restore the device, or otherwise remove the app’s data.
When iCloud synchronization is enabled, synchronized information may remain in Verune’s private iCloud container until you use Verune’s erase control or remove the applicable iCloud data through Apple’s settings.
Verune does not maintain a separate user-account database.
Verune uses Apple platform technologies, application sandboxing, App Groups, StoreKit, and CloudKit to provide its features.
No method of electronic storage is guaranteed to be completely secure, but Verune limits its handling of information to what is required for app functionality.
This policy may be updated when Verune’s features or data practices change.
The effective date at the top of this page will be updated whenever a material revision is published.
