Pettelpoort

's-Hertogenbosch was elected European Fortified City and wanted to mark this with a bamboo work of art by Antoon Versteegde at a place where the inner city and the countryside come together. Here you can also see parts of the walled fortress that have been restored in recent years. Antoon used the dimensions of the arches and pillars as a starting point for his bamboo constructions that were built with the local population. The Art Academy where Antoon had lessons in 1972/73 was also located on this spot.

Pettelpoort

's-Hertogenbosch was verkozen tot Europese Vestingstad en wilde dit graag markeren met een bamboe kunstwerk van Antoon Versteegde op een plek waar binnenstad en buitengebied samenkomen. Hier zijn ook delen van de ommuurde vesting te zien die de laatste jaren werden gerestaureerd. Antoon gebruikte de maatvoering van de bogen en peilers als uitgangspunt voor zijn bamboe constructies die met de lokale bevolking werden gebouwd. Op deze plek stond ook de Kunstacademie waar Antoon in 1972/73 les had.
