The unit to be used for this last part of the assignment is part of the “People Who Changed the World” sequence, is designed for 2nd-year secondary school students in a technical school in Argentina. The learners are at an A1+/A2 English level with strong motivation and curiosity about important figures and their impact on society.
Throughout the unit, students explore biographies and discuss the contributions of historical figures such as Marie Curie, Greta Thunberg and Malala Yousafzai . The lessons integrate content-based learning with language practice, focusing on the Past Simple, time expressions, and vocabulary related to inventions, discoveries, and social change.
The final task of the unit students will apply their language skills creatively by designing a digital timeline video that summarizes the life of one important person who changed the world, using the AI tool Animoto.
This lesson I will show you today is part of the last part of the unit, students will be doing some research and designing their timeline.
