Software skills are important in a support career because we have to be able to become comfortable with unfamiliar/new software. As well as being able to troubleshoot potential issues that may occur with them. With technology always changing we will never know for sure if the software we have today will be supported in the future or if the company decides to change it. We have to be test software before a company buys it or even have to use outdated software that the manual was lost for. I would say being able to hop into different software and being comfortable with the layout as well as being able to troubleshoot errors or issues that came up. This has gotten me more comfortable with using new or different software than what I am normally used to.
