About VO Amateur Radio
The Venture Out Ham Radio Club is located in Mesa, AZ and it is officially called the “Amateur Radio Section of the Electronics Club”. We are a group of “snowbirds” that spend the winter months at Venture Out.
We have a well-equipped shack with multiple operating positions. The shack has a workbench and many tools that can be used to work on electronics. Check out the Shack.
Owners may erect antennas on their unit for ham radio operation as long as they comply with the Park rules.
We have weekly meetings at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning at the Oasis building during the winter season. During the off-season the group meets for coffee and a gab session at the Community Center in the Baja Bistro. So there is always a chance to visit with the other hams in the group. Members of the group often run the Sunlife 20-meter net from the shack during the winter and summer seasons.
We support a field day each year with our sister club, Sunlife ARC.
We have 2 Meter fox hunts in the park.
We have a Christmas party with our sister club, SunlifeARC.
Those interested in seeing what a hamshack looks like and even seeing Ham Radio in action can call Richard Shaink at 719-334-2095 for a tour of the VO hamshack.
