About VO Amateur Radio

• The Venture Out Ham Radio Club is located in Mesa, AZ and it is officially called the “Amateur Radio Section of the Electronics Club”. We are a group of “snowbirds” that spend the winter months at Venture Out.

• We have a well-equipped shack with multiple operating positions. The shack has a workbench and many tools that can be used to work on electronics.    Check out the Shack.

• Owners may erect antennas on their unit for ham radio operation as long as they comply with the Park rules.

• We have weekly meetings at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning at the Oasis building during the winter season. During the off-season the group meets for coffee and a gab session at the Community Center in the Baja Bistro.  So there is always a chance to visit with the other hams in the group. Members of the group often run the Sunlife 20-meter net from the shack during the winter and summer seasons.

• We support a field day each year with our sister club,  Sunlife ARC.

• We have 2 Meter fox hunts in the park.

• We have a Christmas party with our sister club, SunlifeARC.

• Those interested in seeing what a hamshack looks like and even seeing Ham Radio in action can call Richard Shaink at 719-334-2095  for a tour of the VO hamshack.
