As a student myself, I agree that the aspects listed above can deter someone from further engaging with a particular university website. In general, the dedicated section for exploring programs in a university website only provides a high level description and possible career options. The information does not capture student voices in terms of explaining what they learned have in classes and other opportunities associated with their chosen field of study.
To address all those issues, there should be a consolidated app for prospective students to do the following things:
Ability to take basic psychometric tests for students who are unsure of what to study or for students who are just exploring.
Question and Answer forum with an existing student in a particular faculty.
A section which gives prospective students basic program descriptions, prerequisites, course lists, and potential career paths with each program.
The ability to chat with existing students and academic advisors about the programs in an institution.
