About the Education Venture Analyst
My name is Bianca Joson. I am a current Graduate Certificate student under the Educational Technology department at the University of British Columbia. As an educator, I rarely have seen myself as an entrepreneur. As I venture in the world of Educational Technology, I became curious about the inner workings of EdTech businesses. With this in mind, that is why I chose to register for ETEC 522. For the last homework for ETEC 522, I decided to find a venture and give it a new direction.
I went on Kickstarter and encountered the original concept of the Fulcrum app. Originally; it was a comprehensive career planning website for high school and college students. Unfortunately, the product failed to reach the desired funding but I saw some potential in it. With that in mind, I decided to reimagine the Fulcrum app by using the concepts discussed in ETEC 522 to draft a Venture Pitch.
