Title of Keynote: Where is VR (desktop or headset) headed in education?

Valerie J. Hill, Ph.D. is Director of the Community Virtual Library, a project of New Media Arts and teaches at Peninsula College in Washington. Her research centers on digital citizenship and information literacy through the exploration of changing landscapes for education and libraries in digital culture. Dr. Hill has written peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and has presented at numerous conferences. Her awards include Texas Computer Education Association Librarian of the Year Finalist in 2007, TWU Chancellor’s Research Scholar Award in 2009, Lewisville Independent School District (LISD) Librarian of the Year 2010, Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education (VWBPE) Thinkerer Award in 2018 and ISTE Virtual Environments Network Pioneer of the Year Award in 2019. Valerie serves on the Board of Directors for New Media Arts, Inc. and she leads the ACRL Virtual Worlds Interest Group affiliated with the American Library Association.
