What is Joystick?

A joystick is an input device that can be used for controlling the movement of the cursor or a pointer in a computer device. The pointer/cursor movement is controlled by maneuvering a lever on the joystick. The input device is mostly used for gaming applications and, sometimes, in graphics applications. A joystick also can be helpful as an input device for people with movement disabilities.

How to set up or install a Joystick or gamepad?

Most of today's peripheral devices are plug and play, which means they find the drivers automatically when they are attached to a USB port. However, some joysticks or gamepads require you to install the drivers manually. Furthermore, additional software may be needed to configure the button options. Most manufacturers allow you to download the latest drivers for game controllers.
