Provides introductory instruction on Microsoft Outlook, one of the industry’s leading personal data management applications. Students will learn how to effectively manage electronic communications, schedules, tasks, and contact information using Outlook’s Mail, Calendar, Tasks, and Contacts components.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Manage Email: Utilize Microsoft Outlook’s Mail features to effectively manage an email account.
Manage Contact Lists: Create, manage, and utilize distribution/contact lists.
Manage Personal Information: Utilize Microsoft Outlook’s Calendar and Contacts features to effectively manage personal data.
This course will introduce Microsoft Outlook as a personal information management tool. Topics are expected to include:
Navigating and customizing the Outlook workspace
Composing, receiving, and organizing email messages
Adding attachments and using the CC and BCC fields
Managing folders, flags, preferences, and junk email settings
Adding and managing multiple email accounts
Scheduling appointments, meetings, and recurring events
Customizing calendar views, reminders, labels, and workweek settings
Creating and organizing contacts and contact lists
Creating, prioritizing, assigning, updating, and organizing tasks
These topics are provided as a general overview of the anticipated course content.
