Congratulation to Our Own, Judith Sams!

The Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) Excellence Awards recognize those individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to CTE, programs that exemplify the highest standards and organizations that have conducted activities to promote and expand CTE programs.

The ACTE Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes CTE professionals for their leadership on behalf of ACTE, their innovations in CTE and their contributions to the field over an extended period of time.

Virginia is honored that Judith P. Sams was chosen as the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award for Virginia and ACTE Region II (which includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Bahamas, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands). Upon receiving the Region II Lifetime Achievement award in October 2020 she advanced as a national finalist.

The awards program was held on Thursday, December 3 during ACTE’s Virtual CareerTech VISION.This year’s Lifetime Achievement Winner is Lisa Doll from Arizona (Region V). As a result of being a national finalist, Mrs. Sams will be inducted into the ACTE Lifetime Achievement National Hall of Fame. Virginia is proud of the leadership, inspiration, and total dedication and commitment to Business and Information Technology education Mrs. Sams has demonstrated for the last 53 years and continues to provide today. Congratulations, Judy!

There are nine Business and Information Technology courses being reviewed virtually this fall and now is the time to complete that application so it can move through the approval process.
