Dr Varsha Baweja is a Professor in the Department of Zoology, Deshbandhu College University of Delhi. She has been teaching and training students for over three decades. Her forte is in teaching Developmental Biology, Physiology and Animal Biodiversity. She believes in the philosophy that 'Conceptual and meaningful learning is better than rote learning'. Prof Varsha uses various pedagogical tools to make students understand various developmental and physiological processes.

She is also passionate about inculcating interest in science and mentoring future scholars. She has worked with undergraduate students through innovative projects and summer internship programmes, and mentored postgraduate students for their dissertations.

Prof Varsha has post-doctoral research experience of eight years as Research associate (CSIR) and Pool Officer (CSIR). She has published a number of research papers in national and international journals, and has presented her research in many national and international conferences. She has also written chapters in books, articles, and magazines and has also developed e-content for MOOCs. She has also organized a number of national symposiums and community extension programs.

Over the years, she has consistently worked on health, education, and environmental issues, and has contributed immensely to various college committees. She is currently the coordinator of College Social Media and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.
