Throughout the four years, I have continued to learn and integrate what I have learned into my everyday life. Each year I have experienced events that I will take with me for future situations. Throughout this semester I have learned about the importance of adaptation, specifically how to adapt to new circumstances and learning environments. The pandemic has definitely changed many aspects of my life, but most significantly, my education. This semester, my classes were virtual; meaning a portion of my learning was delivered through zoom lectures and conferences. However, I was lucky enough to have received a clinical placement. Clinical placement was also very different this semester compared to previous years. The pandemic drastrically affected how clinical ran, as there were many new policies and procedures in place that must be followed to ensure safety. Being able to adapt to new situations has led me to develop the nursing quality of resilience. A nurse who is resilient is able to encounter adverse situations, while remaining focused and continuing to be optimistic about the future. It is crucial for nurses to develop the quality of resilience and implement it into their professional experience as nursing can be a stressful at times.
