Valley Scholars Network was founded in October of 2025 by three young women inspired to shape the meaning of education and academic success - to serve the very community they call their home. As former scholars in the valley, they understand the daunting feeling of loneliness when navigating the college process as passionate high schoolers. With a lack of resources and networks allocated to underfunded high schools in the San Fernando Valley, seeking opportunities with minimal guidance was a both challenging and discouraging process, especially as underclassmen overlooked in potential. However, it took just one mentor to turn that reality upside down.
Their motivation is driven to support underfunded and under-resourced schools in the San Fernando Valley - scholars who were once in the shoes as themselves.

Here at VSN, our team of undergraduate mentors are not only former valley scholars themselves, but intelligent and diverse in their range of skillsets, expereiences, and academic interests. With dedication, our team is comprised of rising leaders in the fields of STEM, Arts, Humanities, and more! From organization leaders, to athletes, to researchers, VSN mentors are committed to their duty of serving their community of the San Fernando Valley by providing specialized 1 on 1 mentorship to their high school mentees, eager to see the success of bright young minds going forward.
VSN fosters a welcome environment for both our mentees and team of mentors. Camaraderie, compassion, and teamwork are the founding principles of the Valley Scholars Network, to not only build strong connections amongst ourselves and for others, but to lead by example.
