On my senior year, I was elected student body president by 76% of the 650 students in my section at school. Being the Head Girl has given me the chance of embracing my leadership by representing a body of people who have different opinions and different ideas to be done at school. Being given this title, I also got a place and a vote on the board of directives in school, where my opinion and my ideas actually matter, well they can influence on big decisions made through the school.
As head girl, I have a lot of proposals which I am currently working on, proposals that will improve the well being of the students and that will help the school In different ways. I do not only like to take in what I think is important for the school, but also what students think must be changed, so every proposal I made for my campaign was eventually given by a student to me.
As head girl I will be the Valedictorian for our school graduation ceremony.
I participated in my first MUN model when I was in seventh grade as part of the logistics team. Feeling the atmosphere of the model made me decide on going back next year to debate as a delegate. Being new in high school made me nervous, and having to debate in public did so as well. I have been a part of the Model United Nations community ever since, participating in a total of 10 models, and having received over 8 awards.
The MUN has affected me in many ways, I have never been a close minded person, but definitely representing the position of so many countries has made me understand diverse ways of thinking; Through the MUN I have learned about our world´s current and past problematic, becoming more knowledgeable. Apart from all of this, The MUN really helped me perfecting my presenting skills, to the point where I fluently present my country´s position, without the need of notes for guidance.
Finally, I can say that although what we do in the MUN will have no effect on the actual debates of the United Nations, the MUN is a learning experience that has taken me to one of my passions, debate. Along with this, the models open gates to multiple people, showing us the reality in which we live in.

The Global Issues Network is a program built with the goal of empowering young people to collaborate with their communities or even build systems aiming to solve problematic worldwide. The Global Issues network is a program born in Luxemburg, 2003. Now a day multiple schools around the world host GIN conferences in which students from different countries and environments are united by their passion and interest to make the world a better place.
The students who attend the GIN conferences are all students that have developed a project that helps their society in different ways. In my case, I built an extracurricular activity in my school so that students from all different ages can get involved with others that might not have the same opportunities. The details about this program will all be explained in the area of "SOCIAL SERVICE" under "FUNDAMOR". When I attended a GIN at "Colegio Bolivar" I had the opportunity to give a 1 hour presentation about the program that I had established. Not only this, but in GIN you get the chance to observe the presentation of many other young students that have developed programs like mine; through this I did the networking to amplify my program and I also learnt about other ideas that I could start implementing.
The graduation commitee was created by the students in my grade in order to organize all the events regarding prom, ceremonies, fund raising etc. The commitee organizes different events to gain money that will be spent in things like our graduation ceremony, the party, our last first day, Saint Francis day, etc. Currently I am the leader of the graduation commitee and through the last 2 years we have organized multiple events to collect funds, some of these include the selling of carnations (Treats and flowers that we sell durring Saint Valentine´s day and "Día del amor y la amistad"); a big raffle that played with 1000 chances of winning one million COP; festival sales of cotton candy and sodas, a 500 person party where we gained money from the entrance and the products sold inside... Not only this but as a member of the graduation commitee, I was the one who organized the senior jacket designs and delivery, as well as the ceremony of introduction to our last first day of school.
I went to a drug prevention campaign in representation of the school. This campaing was made by the government of my city with the purpose of building a strong project that could make children aware of the damage that drugs can do. The government asked schools arround my city to send students with creative minds that could come up with a strategy of campaign that would make the young people from our city, aware of all the harm they do when they consume drugs. I was chosen by my school because of my creative mind, so I attended with 4 other students from my grade and below, to create solutions to this problem.
I was in the student council when I was in 9th grade. Here I had the oportunity to represent my class and act for my school. With the student council I practiced my leadership. By representing my class I had to communicate all Ideas imposed by students, ideas that could help the school become better. I had the chance to help the student body president at the time locate a vending machine for our school. I had a close contact with the person who managed a business focusing on renting vending machines for different companies. This year, I had the honor of winning the "Best student council award" between my whole section.
