Ila
Ila is a kind-hearted and enthusiastic young girl, yet to come of age, who enjoys getting into mischief with her brother Tiguaq and her tokotas.
Ila is the only child of Miksa, who is Anana’s sister, and a medic of the Musk Ox Tribe. Ila’s father died when she was a baby, but the tribe pull in to help Miksa take care of her. Mother and daughter are very close, and Ila aspires to make her mother proud.
When Ila is young, a Mainlander family comes to visit the tribe’s lands, passing through while searching for new oil drilling sites off the northern coast. However, the woman goes into early labour, and Miksa rushes to help. But in the morning, the parents and their four year old son have gone without a trace, leaving the newborn baby with Miksa and Ila. They adopt him as family, despite his unusually pale skin and hair, and the tribe follows suit. Tiguaq becomes Ila’s best friend, and partner in crime.
Ila and Tiguaq grow up running riot through their small town, causing havoc and then reluctantly helping to clean it up. Miksa arranges a tokota breeding so that her children will have pups to grow up alongside them, and and takes in two of the four pups. She hopes that responsibility for the pups will ground the children somewhat; however, the pups, named Squirrel and Scooter, follow the children into mischief, making friends with local stray Tupaarnaq, and a fellow tribe-toko, Aputsiak. The gang become the ultimate trouble-making machine.
The siblings love exploring the wilds with their tokotas, and are quite curious to meet members of other tribes and factions. They often daydream about volunteering at a Knowledge Seeker base, and like to sneak out to visit Prestige Breeder events.
