Rama Talkies Mobile Ticketing App Design
Welcome to our mobile ticketing app project, designed to simplify the process of purchasing and managing tickets for various events and activities. With our app, users can easily search for events, purchase tickets, and access their tickets right from their mobile device. Our app also allows users to stay up-to-date on event details, receive notifications about upcoming events, and share their ticketing experience with friends and family. Whether you're attending a concert, sporting event, or any other type of gathering, our mobile ticketing app makes the process of getting your tickets simple, quick, and convenient.
The Product
Rama Talkies is a 25 year old Cinema hall located in Visakhapatnam. While recently celebrating its silver jubilee, Rama Talkies announced going digital. It wanted to expand its horizon to many cinema going lovers and patrons by making their ticketing and movie going experience online.
Project Duration
October 2021 to February 2022.
The Problem
To cater wide range of audience from digitally illiterate people to old generation and present generation equally.
The Goal
Design an app for Rama Talkies to allow users book ticket anytime and anywhere with ease.
My Role
UX designer designing an app for Rama Talkies from conception to mobile ticketing.
Responsibilities
Conducting interviews, paper and digital wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility, and iterating on designs.
User research: Summary
I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand the users I’m
designing for and their needs. A primary user group identified through research
was adults who are new to technology and present generation who are comfortable with mobiles.
This user group confirmed initial assumptions about Rama Talkies customers, but research
also revealed that going online suddenly was not the only factor limiting users from booking through mobile.
Other user problems included obligations, interests, or challenges that make it
difficult is slow internet connection and complex steps in booking tickets.
Pain Points
Time: Adults want the mobile ticketing to be fast and convienent.
Accessibilty: Platforms for booking tickets have small texts and bright distracting colours.

Name: Jaya

Occupation: Marketing Executive
Background: Jaya is a busy professional who commutes daily to work via public transport. She relies heavily on her smartphone to stay organized and productive. She's always on the lookout for ways to streamline her daily routine and save time.
Goals and Needs: Jaya needs a mobile ticketing app that is easy to use and provides a seamless experience when purchasing and using tickets for her daily commute. She values convenience and efficiency and wants to avoid the hassle of waiting in line for tickets or fumbling with cash. She also needs a reliable app that provides real-time updates on schedules and delays to help her plan her commute more effectively.
Challenges: Jaya may be hesitant to adopt a new mobile ticketing app if it's not user-friendly or if it requires too much personal information. She also wants to be sure that the app she chooses is secure and won't compromise her personal information.
Motivations: Jaya is motivated by the prospect of saving time and reducing stress during her daily commute. She wants to be able to purchase and use tickets quickly and easily without any disruptions or delays. She's also motivated by the idea of using a technology-based solution to streamline her routine and improve her overall experience.
Personality: Jaya is a tech-savvy and organized individual who values convenience and efficiency. She's always on the go and likes to stay ahead of the game. She's open to new ideas and willing to try out innovative solutions to improve her daily routine. She's also security-conscious and cautious when it comes to sharing personal information.

Occupation: Marketing Executive
Location: Visakhapatnam
Interests: Traveling, attending concerts, trying new restaurants
Background: Raju is a busy professional who is always on-the-go. He loves exploring new places, attending concerts, and trying out new restaurants in his free time. He is very organized and likes to plan ahead, especially when it comes to his leisure activities. He is always looking for convenient and efficient ways to book tickets for his various activities.
Goals: Raju's main goal is to have a seamless and hassle-free experience when booking tickets for his favorite events. He values convenience, speed, and simplicity, and wants to be able to easily access his tickets from his mobile device without having to worry about printing them out or carrying them around. He also wants to be able to quickly find the events that interest him and see all the relevant details, such as the venue, date, time, and ticket prices.
Challenges: Raju can sometimes get overwhelmed by the sheer number of events and ticket options available, especially in a city as bustling as Visakhapatnam. He also values transparency and wants to be sure that he is getting the best deal for his money.
Impact
The app makes users feel like Rama Talkies mobile ticketing app really thinks about how to meet their needs.
What I learned
While designing the Rama Talkies app, I learned that the first ideas for the app are only the beginning of the process. Usability studies and peer feedback influenced each iteration of the app’s designs.
