Drop-In Tutoring

TriBeta runs a free introductory biology (BIOL 118/180/200/220) tutoring service / study lounge located in the 4th floor lounge of Hitchcock, the building where intro bio labs are held. Experienced students are present to answer your questions while you take advantage of free snacks and a comfortable environment. It's a great place to make a habit of working in.

Our peer tutors are here Monday to Thursday in-person or via Zoom

Ask a peer about:

Specific Introductory Biology questions | "How does a helper T-cell get activated?"
Study strategies for Introductory Biology | "How the heck do I memorize all of these flow diagrams?"
Future courses, majors, career path | "How much work is CHEM 238, can I balance it with PHYS 114?"
Resources at UW | "I'm a commuter. Do you have any tips for how I can meet people?"
To talk about UW life, good food at the Ave, tips and tricks etc. |"Where's the best boba on the Ave?"

Our Goal

The transition from high school to college is incredibly challenging. As students with first-hand experience of this challenge, we want to help students navigate the complex, yet wonderful world of UW.

Our goal is to help students succeed in biology by making the transition to college-level coursework easier through peer-based tutoring, mentorship, and academic support.
