A loving welcome to the Association Website, on behalf of the entire UWA Delhi team, echoing from 1949 through the strident decades of the twentieth century, into the 21 st century, as we confront contemporary times! Launching the website this year is especially significant for us, because the year 2025 marks the seventy-fifth year of our birth, and growth from understanding, empowerment and learning. The website is thus a symbol of our embrace to girls and women, towards higher education and skill development through annual merit-cum-means scholarships, self-expression and assertion through activities in institutions of Higher Learning and most importantly, togetherness under one banner for counselling and support. Our name, University Women’s Association should not be misunderstood as restrictive to University…. It implies that women, who have had the privilege of higher education and are part of any productivity as Home-makers, Entrepreneurs, engaged in the Public and Private spheres of work, are eligible to contribute to the Association as full members, to carry forward its cherished ideals. Added to its continuing ideals, the Association recognises the need for awareness workshops to correct inequities and research projects for meaningful social transformation to establish gender equality in opportunity and earnings as also a Discussion Forum for brainstorming. With the introduction of Sushil Bhardwaj Lifetime Award, the Association has initiated a celebration of senior women who have dedicated themselves to the cause of upliftment and change.
