The British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM) is the regulatory college for Registered Nurses (RNs), Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Nurse Practitioners (NPs), and Registered Midwives (RMs) in BC. They develop the Professional Standards, determine Scope of Practice, and set the Standards of Practice. This comprises the legal obligation of nurses to the public. The BCCNM ensures that nurses are properly educated and registered with all the requisite skills and abilities to protect the public.
