What happens on the first day of the SEE Math Program?
On the first day of SEE Math, your child will meet with their designated UTSA student in a one-to-one get-together in order to get to know each other—the UTSA student will learn more about your child’s interests, likes, and activities that are done outside of school with friends and family. The ideas shared on this first day will be the foundational information UTSA students use to craft personal instructional tasks for your child.
What will my child(ren) do during the SEE Math Program?
At each weekly meeting, your child will work with their designated UTSA student to participate in math tasks that are specifically tailored to your child’s interests and learning needs. UTSA students support and extend your child’s thinking in various mathematical ideas. The UTSA students will learn to ask purposeful questions that help children communicate what they know about mathematics.
What if I am late to the SEE Math Program? What should I do and whom should I contact?
Please plan in advance to have your child to weekly meetings on time, as there are limited meetings and your child’s designated UTSA student has developed an hour of personalized math activities just for them. We understand that emergencies arise and traffic jams happen, but your child’s consistent participation is important for our goals at UTSA and for your child’s learning.
If an emergency arises, contact: Traci Kelley, SEE Math Program Coordinator, at 210-458-5969.
If you are late more than once to pick your child up from the program, you will be charged a $20.00 late fee.
What if I cannot afford the tuition fee for the SEE Math Program?
If the tuition fee for the SEE Math Program would cause undue financial hardship, please contact Traci Kelley at SEEMath@utsa.edu for a reduced tuition fee request form. It is our goal to be able to offer this support and enrichment experience to all those who would like to participate, and each request will be respectfully considered.
Where will I park and how will this be paid for? (Information for UTSA Downtown Campus Only)
Once you have paid your tuition, you will be given a Dashboard Permit for parking at the UTSA Downtown Campus which must be visible in the dashboard of your vehicle while parked on the UTSA campus property.
Additional information for maps and parking can be found here.
