"Q"uincy Langman, 22, is in his fifth and final year of undergraduate study at the University of Texas at Austin. He is simultaneously pursuing degrees in Piano Performance and Computer Science. Q served as Assistant Director in the Lab Orchestra's first season, and is serving his second year as Lead Director for the 2018-2019 Season. Q is also an assistant conductor for the Butler Opera Center and is a guest conductor for the UT New Music Ensemble. Q has led the Lab Orchestra in performances of Stravinsky's Octet, Jonathan Newman's OK Feel Good, Schubert's Symphony No. 5, and Piazzolla's Four Seasons of Buenos Aires. In the Lab Orchestra's 2018-2019 Season, Q will direct music of Corigliano, Bambridge, Rachmaninov, and Ferrandino.
Joshua Barker is a conductor, educator, clarinetist, and composer currently living in Austin, Texas. He is pursuing a Music Education degree at the University of Texas at Austin and is a member of the clarinet studio of Jonathan Gunn. Josh teaches clarinet privately at multiple schools and works as a marching band assistant during the Fall. He has performed both clarinet and bass clarinet with the University of Texas Wind Ensemble, New Music Ensemble and Lab Orchestra. He has also played with Density512, a New Music Concert Series in Austin, TX. Recently, Josh participated in the St. Petersburg Chamber Philharmonic Tenth International Masterclass under the instruction of Mark Stringer and Jeffery Meyer and was awarded High Distinction. Josh studies conducting with Peter Bay of the Austin Symphony Orchestra .
Luke Berringer is a conductor and performer from Austin Texas. He currently studies with Peter Bay of the Austin Symphony and Kelly Kuo of The Butler Opera Center. Luke also serves as a conductor with the Engineering Chamber Orchestra. As a performer, Luke currently plays trombone in various ensembles at UT and in Austin, and sings in the Butler Opera Center Chorus. Following engagements in Canada, Luke is excited to continue his participation in music festivals this upcoming year. Upon graduation Luke wishes to move to Germany to pursue graduate conducting studies.
