Kurt Hohmann is a founding member of Úthellingu Kindred, serving on both the leadership council and as goði. He's been a practicing Pagan since the early 90's, having trained in Faery Wicca, Druidry, and Core Shamanism, as well as exploring a myriad of other spiritual paths, before finding his strongest resonance on the Heathen road. He's been a member of The Troth since 2006, currently serving as the steward for upstate New York and an ordained clergy member. In the CNY area, he's been involved in Pagan Pride Day since its inception in 2000, and served as the local facilitator for over ten years.
Back in 2017, Cheyenne was researching Norse lore and mythology when she discovered a website detailing someone’s modern Heathen beliefs. Until then, she hadn’t realized that anyone was actually practicing this stuff. Shortly after, she began attending Úthellingu Kindred meetings. Now, she’s very happily active in her local Heathen and Pagan communities and continues to build her personal practice to greater spiritual fulfillment. Cheyenne organizes the event schedule for the kindred and makes sure we have a space to get together for our in-person Moots. Cheyenne was also heavily involved in organizing the 2023 CNY Pagan Pride Day.
Daniel joined Uthellingu Kindred in 2020, having attended one in-person event mere weeks before quarantine. He came to heathenry out of curiosity following a dream about Odin’s self-sacrifice. As an Anglo-Saxon Polytheist (with some Norse and German syncretism) he tries to bring a slightly different perspective to discussions within the kindred. Daniel is a teacher by trade, and is in charge of organizing the monthly Virtual Moots, which he relishes as an opportunity to bring interesting discussions to our community, and to have an outlet for what could be described as an obsession with research.
Ryan was raised Christian, but was dabbling in Pagan practices by his late teens. He initially identified as Wiccan, but by 2017, his lifelong interest in Greek and Norse Mythology led him to Heathenry. That same year, Ryan joined Uthellingu Kindred and has since brought his love of mythology to kindred discussions and education. He continues to research and explore a variety of cultural practices alongside his Norse Pagan beliefs, with special focuses on Hel, Thor, and Loki.
Ev Lokadottr has been a practicing heathen since 1999. She spent most of her adult life in the San Francisco Bay area in California, where she was a member of a number of kindreds and was able to take many classes on heathenry. In 2020, after moving to Central New York, Ev joined Uthellingu Kindred and has been active in moderating our online presence. She works with all of the gods, and is a Baldr'swoman who has brought her unique perspective to many discussions of the most handsome of gods. Ev is an author who loves computer gaming, singing, gardening, aquascaping, and cooking.
