1. Skits may be performed by groups ranging from two to six students.
2. The total presentation must not exceed 10 minutes. One student should begin the presentation by introducing the group and title of the skit in Portuguese. Parts should be memorized and presented entirely in Portuguese.
3. The skit group will be responsible for bringing all props, costumes. and any other equipment needed, such as audio equipment. The setting up and dismantling of props and scenery must be done immediately before and after each presentation and will be included in the 10-minute time limit for the skit. HINT: Keep it simple.
4. Skits will be judged on:
content (originality and entertainment value)
presentation (staging, expression and projection)
fluency (knowing one’s lines, absence of hesitations)
linguistic accuracy (pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary)
adherence to time limit
5. If a skit runs much more than 10 minutes, the judges may interrupt the performance, thank the students and inform them that their time is up.
6. Judges will select the best skit to be performed during the awards ceremony.
SUGGESTIONS: The term “skit” may be expanded to include other types of memorized dramas such as a parody on classroom activities, scenes from famous plays, cultural minidramas, simulations of real-life situations, etc.
