The Mission

After nearly one year, the USS Ahwatukee returns to Starbase 1 in Earth's orbit. By all accounts, Starfleet considers the shakedown cruise a tremendous success in testing the ship's advanced systems and technological capabilities. Starfleet's Corps of Engineers report aboard to conduct final diagnostics, while the Department of Personnel Management rotates the shakedown crew for the ship's long-term residents. 

With the christening ceremony fast approaching, the senior staff visit the Ahwatukee's mess lounge, The Sanctuary on Ten, for an informal meet-and-greet and to discuss their first mission together as a crew.
