Upcoming: Joint meeting of the Land Use Committe and the Planning Board of Somerville. April 16, City Hall, 6:00 pm
Hamilton Company, as Union 2 associates, LLC, has a public communication on the agenda about their requested zoning map-change for their property in Union Square. Their parcel is currently designated Commercial Core 5 (CC5) - which is commercial only - and they are seeking to change this to Mid-Rise 6 (MR6) - which is commercial and residential. You can join this meeting in the City Council chambers at Somerville City Hall, or via Zoom. This IS an opportunity for public comment, to engage directly with the Land Use and Planning Board members and make yourself heard. Meeting details here. Proposed Development: 1 Union Square.
On October 6, The Hamilton Company presented their proposal to redevelop 1 Union Square to the USNC. It is a five story, mixed use, primarily residential building replacing the current commercial space - the shops and businesses - in the D6 parcel.

This is very preliminary, and will require a zoning change from the city to proceed.

Membership is open to all residents, property owners, business owners, workers, and volunteers in the Union Square neighborhood, though all are welcome to attend and participate in meetings. Meetings are currently being held in person and on Zoom. Join us!
