USHPDB Staff Coach
We are pleased to welcome Lily Ting to the USHPDB programming staff. With 16 years of coaching experience and a strong record at the national and international levels, Lily brings high-performance leadership and a deep understanding of athlete development to the program.
Coaching Philosophy: I believe in sustainable high performance is built through technical discipline, clear expectations, and competitive accountability. My focus is on developing athletes and programs that train with intent, execute under pressure, and sustain success across multiple competitive cycles.
Lily has served as a three-time Team USA Assistant Coach, supporting Senior A Women, Open, and Mixed crews (2021, 2023, 2025); Senior B Women (2021, 2023, 2025); Senior C Women Small Boat (2025); and as U24 North-East Regional Pod Leader (2025). In addition, Lily is a two-time Team USA Premier athlete, competing successfully at the world championship level.
At the club level, Lily has been Head Coach of Boston BBB Dragon Boat Club (2022–present), leading the program to consistent top-tier results. Highlights include a 2nd-ranked Premier team at CCNC 2025, earning three berths to CCWC 2026 (Taiwan) in the Premier Standard Women, Open, and Mixed divisions; 2nd place at the 2025 Pan American Club Crew Championships; and a 9th-place finish out of 35 crews in the Premier Mixed Standard Division at CCWC 2024 (Ravenna). Under Lily’s leadership, the club has also captured four consecutive ERDBA Premier Open Championships (2022–2025) and the ERDBA Premier Women Championship (2025).
Lily also serves as Head Coach of Boston 1 Dragon Boat Team (2013–present), leading the team to a #1 ERDBA ranking in 2025 and five first-place finishes at the Boston Dragon Boat Festival since 2018, and coaching two Premier Small Boat crews to compete at CCWC 2018 in Szeged. In 2025, she was invited to coach Heart & Soul, Cooper River, and Arizona Sunsoon.
As a Team USA athlete, Lily earned multiple medals at recent world championships, including four medals in Premier Women and two gold medals in Premier Mixed at the 2025 World Championships in Germany, as well as podium finishes in Premier Women and Senior A Mixed at the 2023 World Championships in Thailand.
Lily also serves as a member of the USDBF High Performance Committee (2025), contributing to the continued development of high-performance pathways within the sport.
As part of the USHPDB programming staff, Lily is committed to building disciplined, competitive athletes and programs capable of sustained international success.
