Sponsor college awareness events encouraging elementary and middle school students to explore college opportunities. Plan a visit to campus or invite students, faculty, or USF alumni to bring their journeys to your classroom. Information materials are available for various grade levels.
Partner with USF to offer dual credit education courses to your high school students: Exploring the Teaching Profession, Teaching in a Diverse Society, and Technology for Teaching & Learning.
Connect your Future Teacher Club to USF to offer students practical opportunities like shadowing or meeting with current teacher candidates, personalized campus visits, and invitations to participate in events to assist with college and career readiness hosted by the College of Education, MERIT, and Kappa Delta Pi.
Create a scholarship for students to attend USF with a commitment to return to area schools as a teacher once they earn a bachelor's degree and educator license. Collaborate with your district foundation, PTO, and local businesses to support the next generation of teachers who will serve in your community.
Encourage participation in USF hosted opportunities for educators. Future teachers can learn and network with other high school students, USF teacher candidates, and practicing professionals. Timely topics and prominent guest speakers increase cultural awareness and boost skills for working with student groups and colleagues.
Mentor and help prepare future teachers by hosting a USF student in your classroom for an observational practicum, full semester internship, or a year-long experience. USF teacher candidates are equipped to support and add value to the learning environment.
