High school students who have completed their sophomore year are invited to spend time on campus exploring the teaching profession, participating in team and leadership activities, networking with current teacher candidates and USF alumni, and learning more about the college application process.

Head Start Opportunity: Dual Credit Courses

EDUC 107 Exploring the Teaching Profession (3 credit hours) | Dual Credit Only

Examines teaching as a viable career option. Topics include why people choose to teach, the structure and purpose of schools, and the attributes and dispositions essential to success in the classroom. 

EDUC 210 Teaching in a Diverse Society (3 credit hours) | Dual Credit Only

Offers insight into the teaching profession and education system as part of a diverse society. Candidates examine personal bias which can affect teaching and learning and explore various cultural groups and their valuable contributions in the classroom. 

EDUC 225 Technology for Teaching and Learning (2 credit hours) | Dual Credit Only

Provides a strong foundation for the role of technology in the teaching and learning process. Candidates are introduced to digital citizenship and technology-based tools that support instruction, extend communication beyond the classroom, and increase productivity in daily tasks.
