The Executive Board is the heartbeat of USBL. We set the vision, guide strategy, and ensure that every initiative reflects our mission to empower Black students. More than just decision-makers, we’re builders — creating systems, supporting committees, and making sure every member’s voice matters.

Our role isn’t to lead from above but to lead alongside — cultivating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and impact.

The Power of Committees

USBL’s strength comes from its people — and our committees are where ideas turn into impact. Each committee gives members the space to lead, collaborate, and grow in real time. They’re not just support teams; they’re engines of change.

Through committees, students shape initiatives, plan programs, and drive the vision of USBL forward. Whether organizing events, building systems, or engaging the community, committee work is where leadership is learned, redefined, and lived out.

Systems and Operations

Overseen by the Vice-President, the Systems and Operations Committee oversees all internal functions of USBL to ensure overall effectiveness and committee cohesion.

Treasury and Finance

Overseen by the Treasurer, the Treasury and Finance Committee oversees all fiscal matters for USBL, including budgeting, fundraising, and auditing.

Overseen by the Secretary, the Executive Committee oversees all organizational record-keeping and attendance, ensuring that information is stored and accessible for future members.

Marketing

Overseen by the Co-Directors of Marketing, the Marketing Committee oversees all media promotion in order to spread organizational awareness to all students.

Recruitment

Overseen by the Director of Recruitment, the Recruitment Committee oversees tabling events and organization fairs, creating strategies to recruit new students into USBL.

Community Relations

Overseen by the Director of Community Relations, the Community Relations Committee oversees external community initiatives including our Peer Mentorship Program and our Community Roundtables.

Overseen by the Director of Programming, the Programming Committee oversees USBL's events focused on professional development, leadership development, cultural humility, and community service.
