Giuseppe Arcimboldo was an Italian artist. He is well known today for painting portraits of people made out of different types of fruits, vegetables, meat and fish.
This week we are going to explore the artwork of Giuseppe Arcimboldo and hopefully he will inspire us to create some of our own artwork.
Watch this video to find out more information about Giuseppe Arcimboldo's artwork!
You could try one or all of these options or if you have another idea please feel free to try it out!
Option 1: Draw and colour your own fruit and vegetable portrait!
You can use these templates or a blank page to draw your own fruit and vegetable portrait inspired by Giuseppe Arcimboldo.
Option 2: Cut out and stick fruit and vegetable pictures on your face template!
You can cut out these fruit and vegetable pictures and stick them onto your page to make a fruit and vegetable portrait. You might find more pictures of fruit and vegetables in brochures and magazines around your house but just remember to ask an adult before you cut them out.
Option 3: You could even use real fruit and vegetables to create a piece of 3D art!
Watch this video to see how you can make a 3D portrait inspired by Giuseppe Arcimboldo.
If you are making a 3D fruit and vegetable face just remember to wash your hands before touching the food. We would also recommend not cutting open the fruit and vegetables when making your picture, unless you have checked with an adult. Try to use the fruit and vegetables as they are without cutting them open.
