Sophia is a recent graduate of the University of Rochester with a double major in Biology and Psychology. With a deep interest in adolescent health and eating disorders, she brings both academic insight, as well as clinical and personal experience to the lab. Sophia currently works as a psychiatric technician at Golisano Children's Hospital at URMC, where she provides direct care to patients admitted for eating disorder treatment. She has presented her work at the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine Annual Conference, and is passionate about integrating research and clinical practice to improve outcomes for young people.
Chelsea is an Epidemiology and Microbiology double major in the University of Rochester’s HEAL (4+1) program. Her interests focus on bridging clinical care and research, with a particular interest in improving health outcomes for pediatric and adolescent populations. Chelsea intends to pursue a career in medicine to continue this work at the intersection of research and patient-centered treatment.
Sophia was a Strong Children's Research Center intern for 2025 working in the NOURISHED Lab. A Junior at the University of Michigan studying Movement Science, her interests are in the social and biological aspects of nutrition and exercise, as well as medical education and public health.
Madison Zeng (she/her) is an emerging scientist-practitioner, public health advocate, and community leader whose combined lived and professional experiences uniquely position her to bridge communities, advocate for responsive, person-centered care, and engage in research and clinical practice with intellectual openness and humility. She is dedicated to advancing mental health equity, culturally competent care, and health justice, with academic and research interests focused on youth behavioral health, abnormal psychopathology, and the psychosocial drivers of health outcomes.
At the University of Rochester, she is a Brady Scholar (Class of 2027) pursuing Pre-Health Studies through the School of Arts and Sciences. At this stage in her undergraduate career, Madison is nearing completion of a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Health: Health, Behavior, and Society, and Psychology, with triple minors in General Writing Studies, Philosophy: Ethics, and Medical Anthropology. Her commitment to social impact and civic engagement informs her pursuit of the Certificate of Achievement in Community-Engaged Learning as part of her undergraduate studies. To further strengthen her intercultural competencies, she completed the “Multicultural Diversity Microcredential: World Health Perspective” through the State University of New York.
