Lab Director
Dr. Kells (she/her) is an Assistant Professor at the University of Rochester School of Nursing and a practicing Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Adolescent Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center-Golisano Children's Hospital. With over 17 years of experience providing care to adolescents and young adults diagnosed with an eating disorder in both outpatient and inpatient medical settings, Dr. Kells is passionate about advancing science in the care provided during nutritional rehabilitation. Her research focuses on feeding practices during inpatient hospitalization as well as modifiable risk factors in community settings.
Dr. Kells is a Fellow of the Society for Adolescent Medicine, and an active member of the Eating Disorder Research Society and Academy of Eating Disorders. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing.
In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor adventures with her partner and children, riding roller coasters, and crafting.
