In memory of Thomas Hancock.

The Garcia Families Trails are considered a paradise, a BMX oasis in middle of the desert city of Scottsdale, Arizona. The friends and family of Thomas Hancock have preserved his legacy through the upkeep and redevelopment of one of his favorite places to ride. I got an opportunity to check out the Garden and help them during their rebuild. Below is a look back at some of their progress.

Please enjoy some of the amateur media I captured along the journey. The riders featured in this series represent the roots of Arizona freestyle BMX Dirt Jumping. Most, have been existential in the coordinated development of multiple city parks as well as private facilities.

We start out with the property owners, everyone does their part.. Father and son are tag teaming the bobcat and watering the soil during a build.

The man with the vision, aptly named "the Admiral" a.k.a. Shreddy Cougar, discusses with Jesse Reyes what's in store while taking a quick look around:

A former local that made some contributions to the yard, Jacob Browy getting busy in the rain.

The experiences have been fantastic and you can see more footage of the property, it's development and the Arizona freestyle BMX community leaders on our media page.
