What does a Peer ambassador do?
UPSA’s Peer Ambassador program allows students to partake in events and other initiatives that support the development of students or better student life at York University. As a Peer Ambassador for UPSA, students can expect the opportunity to aid student success as well as network with fellow York students. Peer Ambassadors will also be put into roles which allow them the opportunity to grow leadership via facilitation roles, teamwork and collaboration through initiatives like UPSA’s monthly podcasts and bi-weekly newsletters, communication through interactions with other UPSA members or fellow students, and creativity among a variety of other skills. From event help like chat monitoring and note taking to event facilitation, Peer Ambassadors are the representatives of UPSA for almost all the organization’s events. UPSA is very open to receiving input from members so Peer Ambassadors will also have the opportunity to implement new initiatives to better support the York community and grow alongside the organization.

Alia is a third-year student majoring in psychology. Her goal is to work in the field of forensic psychology and continue exploring the relationship between psychology, research, and the justice system. She is particularly interested in understanding the factors that influence people's thoughts, emotions, and actions, and hopes to continue developing her knowledge through research and further education. Outside of academics, Alia enjoys travelling, baking, going to concerts, and exploring creative projects.
I have visited almost every destination on my bucket list, with Australia being one of the few exceptions!

Alina is an Honours B.Sc. Psychology student, aiming to pursue a career in clinical psychology. Deeply committed to community engagement, she volunteers at charities such as Al-Ayn and The Zahra Trust, and enjoys spending her summers teaching children at camps. Along with her goal of expanding her professional network, Alina loves connecting with peers and building community. In her free time, she likes playing volleyball, experimenting with baking, and hanging out with friends.

Eva is a third-year Specialized Honours Psychology student with a strong interest in supporting and connecting with other students. She previously served as a course representative and tutor for the Natural Science department, where she developed communication and teamwork skills. Through these roles, she helped students understand course material and contributed to a positive academic environment. Outside of school, Eva enjoys playing golf and continuing to develop her personal and professional interests.

Fiora is a fifth-year Psychology student at York University with aspirations of becoming a child psychologist. She is passionate about supporting children's mental health and hopes to make a positive difference in the lives of children and their development. Outside of academics, Fiora enjoys listening to music, writing, and absolutely adores cats. She values community involvement, personal growth, and creating welcoming spaces where others feel heard and supported.

Kieran is a second year psychology student in the Bachelor of Arts program at the YorkU Glendon campus. They are aiming for a career in clinical psychology, but are still considering other paths. They feel their best when in nature, and can bake a mean cheesecake. They are juggling a few volunteer roles as of now, ranging from a youth engagement committee to a research lab.

Gwyn is a fourth-year psychology student at York University. Studying psychology has been one of the most meaningful experiences in her life as it is a passion of hers, but also because it has taught her a lot about herself and others. She hopes to work with adolescents in a school or hospital setting.
Outside of academics, Gwyn loves to watch anime, play video games, dance, and draw.
Gwyn has joined UPSA for the first time as a General Peer Ambassador. She is excited to learn, get to know others, and to contribute to the psychology community!

Serena is currently in her second year of the Psychology Honours program and has a strong interest in counselling psychology and child and youth development. She also enjoys making memories and being involved in the York community.

Outside of school, she enjoys staying active by playing basketball, volleyball, and swimming, as well as spending time with friends and family.
