The Financial Wellness Project is a peer-led financial wellness project that follows three characters aged 18 to 30 who explore and learn about how their individual money attitudes influence their financial behaviours.

Attention York undergraduates that are NOT currently enrolled in PSYC1010, Kate is a MA student in the Research on Emerging Adults, Adolescents, and Children (REACh) Lab. She is currently recruiting undergraduate students to participate in an online survey on university students’ emotions and well-being. The survey will take approximately 20-30 minutes and all participants will be entered into a prize draw for 1 in 5 $25 Tim Hortons’ gift cards!

Mentorship Opportunity: SickKids Pain Centre Fundraiser

Premed Mentorship Program

Looking for help with GPA, MCAT, extracurriculars, OMSAS, interviews, reference letters, research, and more? Sign up to get one-on-one insight into medical school admissions from an Ontario medical student mentor!!


Our Premed Mentorship Program aims to connect premeds with medical students in exchange for a small donation (minimum $10 is all we ask) in order to raise funds that will go directly to the SickKids Pain Centre to help with the worsening chronic pain in children during COVID-19.

Steps:

1) Please fill out this Google form: https://forms.gle/jPmQD1LmJFmur3B2A


2) Visit SickKids' Foundation donation page to donate a minimum of $10 directly to SickKids: https://fundraise.sickkidsfoundation.com/paincentre


3) Send your full name, along with proof of your donation or tax receipt given to SickKidsPACFund@gmail.com


4) Once we've received your donation, we will match you with a medical student for a minimum 1 hour session. You can also form longitudinal relationships with your mentor if you both wish!

The Department of Psychology Wants to Hear from YOU!

Recently, Senate approved a new Undergraduate Certificate in Psychological Methods and Data Analysis. This will allow students who complete a number of courses in Statistics and Research Methods to obtain recognition for their accomplishments.

Graduate Certificate Programs at Mohawk College

Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario is offering two graduate certificate programs: Brain Disorders Management and Mental Health & Disability Management. These programs are suitable for students who will have their degree no later than August 2021 in order to start our program in Fall 2021. The programs allow students to build on their degree training and support clients in the future. Some students have also gone on to work in research or policy settings, which is the other career pathway that they offer.

If you are interested in starting a career in these fields or using the program that includes a hands-on field placement to build their background before applying to graduate school, please read the attached information.
