13 Jun 1900 NA Loco 4A placed on the VR register. 

Jun 1900 NA Loco 4A on the line : Jun-1900 to Apr-1906 - initial allocation of a new locomotive

26 Jan 1906 Puffing Billy’s first major accident; NA Loco 4A derailment due to excessive speed.  Just before  the Monbulk Creek Bridge,  40 passengers are injured - Loco 4A is taken off the line shortly afterwards
