Spring Painting Party March 15th - Join us!
Drawing is a foundational tool that should be learned before any other medium is applied. Most art pieces will use drawing in some form or function. During this age, students are starting to develop their unique and personal style. Drawing will help them to build their skills and create a foundation for the next step - painting, other forms of drawing, and more. First students will paint a tempera foundation of paint onto a canvas platform, whether it's a canvas board or stretched canvas. After the first layer is dried, students may add another and continue until they are satisfied. As a final step, they will embellish with found objects, beads, buttons, paper pieces, and whatever else we have available for them to choose from.
