Top reasons studying in Barcelona is best done in Fall!
The Weather
In the Fall semester, the term starts off hot and sunny (perfect for beach days), and ends with cooler days and holiday markets. The Spring term is during the coolers months in Barcelona, and you depart before the beach/swim season starts. Weather chart.
La Merce
At the end of September Barcelona holds a citywide festival. This is 4 days of free concerts, street performances, fireworks shows, correfocs and castellers competitions. It is absolutely the best weekend of the year to be in the city! What is La Merce?
Less Competition
Barcelona is a popular destination for study abroad, but there are fewer students in the Fall than in the Spring. This means less competition on the top housing choices & the very best pick of our host families. You'll be more likely to get into the program, get your top housing choice, and get into the classes you want. Plus you'll have even more opportunities to meet locals and immerse yourself in the local culture!
