The Université de la Polynésie française (UPF), through its EASTCO research laboratory, is organising an international conference entitled Indigenous Research: Voices, Foundations and Practices. This event will bring together researchers, community practitioners, and Indigenous knowledge holders from across the Pacific and beyond, to engage in meaningful dialogue around Indigenous epistemologies, decolonial research methodologies, and community-based practices.
Themes
Proposals may address one or more of the following themes:
Indigenous research methodologies
Indigenous epistemologies and knowledge systems
Languages and cultural transmission
Community practices and participatory research
Decolonisation of academic institutions
Sovereignty and the rights of Indigenous peoples
Who should apply
Academic researchers, doctoral candidates, community practitioners and advocates, Indigenous artists and creators.
Format
Abstracts of no more than 300 words, written in English or French. All presentations will take place in plenary format (20 minutes presentation + 10 minutes discussion).
