About the Conference
Indigenous Research: Voices, Foundations and Practices was born from a simple but urgent conviction: Indigenous ways of knowing, researching and transmitting knowledge deserve a space of their own, not as objects of study, but as living foundations for thought and action.
This conference brings together researchers, community practitioners and Indigenous knowledge holders from across the Pacific and beyond. Over three days in Tahiti, we will engage in dialogue around Indigenous epistemologies, decolonial research methodologies, and community-based practices, honouring the diversity of voices and approaches that shape Indigenous research today.
Tahiti is not a neutral backdrop for this gathering. It is a place where Māʻohi knowledge systems are still alive, still spoken, still danced, still navigated. Holding this conference here is itself a statement: the Pacific is not at the margins of this conversation, but at its very centre.
