Cavendish Campus: Room 115 - 115 New Cavendish St,
London W1B 2HW

Event description:

Sustainable Shopping on Budget is part of the University of Westminster Sustainability Week, which is celebrated from 4th to 8th of April.

Our event aim is to educate students about how to buy groceries in a sustainable way without compromising on their budget, so this can be used to make small changes in everyday life that can reduce our pollution.

The event will feature various talks, online content and workshops from which you will learn how to make objects that will help you to have more sustainable habits.

We want you, after the event, to be able to introduce more sustainable changes into your grocery shopping that would not require you to spend more money.

Join us on 6th April at the Cavendish Campus of the University of Westminster from 12:30 to 15:30. We look forward to seeing you then!

Our Sponsors:

We are so appreciative of the support our sponsors have given towards this April “Sustainable Shopping on Budget” experience. All our sponsors have firm commitments to sustainability and are taking action to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all.

We really want to thank them all for making this event possible.

Pasta Evangelists follow a “reduce, reuse, recycle” model and have now shifted to completely recyclable packaging. And their pre-portioned products help to minimise food waste.

La Petite Poissonnerie food philosophy is local sourcing, less waste, and a willingness to try to keep prices low without compromising on quality.

Pasquier is strongly engaged in agroecology. They chose to move towards a 100% wheat sector and their cocoa comes from Rainforest Alliance certified production.

Better Nature's tempeh is planet-friendly: it has earned a top rating for its low carbon footprint and is Carbon and Plastic Negative, as double the carbon and plastic used to make it has been offset.

They also donate 1% of our sales to improve the wellbeing of families in Indonesia, the home of tempeh.

Meet the Team

We are Andrea, Aneta, Kehan and Solene and we are very excited to present to you our event!

Our common interest to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle has brought us together to organise this event.

We are a culturally diverse team from various parts of the world, and our different cultures offer new perspectives on sustainability.

Andrea is from Spain. She is a journalism graduate and is now embarking on a new career in events.

Aneta moved from the Czech Republic to the UK when she started her career in events and is now looking to expand her knowledge in this sector.

Kehan is the one who comes the furthest, from China. After finishing her degree and gaining some work experience in events she decided to come to London for further education.

Solene (Team Leader) graduated as a business lawyer and after some serious self-reflection, started looking into becoming a wedding planner in the UK.
