We are searching for a talented Social Media person to represent our UoB-PoL by upholding and building the social media presence for our brand. The Social Media person will be required to drive engagement, by creating high-quality original content as well as manage our community by responding to comments and messages across all platforms. You will be part of the team working together to consistently share content that supports our mission and board goals.
Approximate Time Required: 2-4 hours weekly
Social Media Manager Responsibilities:
• Formulating high-quality novel written and visual content for each social media campaign.
• Building a social media presence by maintaining a solid online presence.
• Managing our online communities to ensure respectful and appropriate engagement.
• Responding to comments on each of our accounts.
• Running social media advertising campaigns.
• Analyzing data to determine whether social media campaigns have achieved their objectives.
• Attending Regular UoB-PoL Team Meetings
Social Media Manager Requirements:
• Social Media Marketing experience.
• Experience developing social media strategies.
• Experience working with and developing a marketing plan.
• Ability to develop the right voice for each social media platform.
• Ability to build social media communities.
• Understanding of graphic design principles.
• Ability to measure the success of campaigns.
• Ability to work within a team to create a consistent voice.
A picture says more than a thousand words about events. We need volunteers with photography skills who can take pictures during events which can be used to promote future events and keep the event spirit alive on social media.
What’s involved?
• Working across multiple sites take candid photos at a variety of events
• Choosing the best pictures for our website, brochures and social media accounts to showcase the best of everything we have to offer!
• Using your creativity to make sure the pictures we use showcase our events in the best way possible.
• Assisting the marketing team by scheduling social media posts
Skills Required
• Are creative and want to develop their photography skills
• Are looking for a fun new hobby, or enhance their photography portfolio to further their career
• Are reliable, flexible and are able to help out on a regular basis
• Have the ability to work without supervision, follow guidelines and instructions
We need assistance for the planning of the event from start to finish in partnership with UoB-PoL team members. This may include the following: Keeping in touch regularly with team members to plan event.
Engaging members to come up with a theme and to get recommendations for keynote speakers and other event ideas.
Reaching out to speakers and moderators to secure date. Secure event venue and plan catering.
Planning meetings with speakers and moderator to define learning objectives for the event and to determine the event format (e.g. presentations, lecture, panel discussion, etc.) and securing volunteers to help with event day responsibilities.
Support Plan: Team members would provide assistance through planning the event by providing support throughout the process.
Time Commitment: Would need to commit to planning 1 yearly event from start to finish. Participation on an event planning committee typically requires 2-3 hours monthly for several months.
Qualifications: Project or event management skills, organizational skills, judgment skills.
We will always need additional volunteer to support various activities and opting to serve in any available roles would be a great way to help us serve others for this event.
